Commitment
Accessibility
How we accommodate wheelchair users, mobility-aid passengers, service animals, and riders with sensory or cognitive needs — and how to request the accommodations you need when you book.
Last updated: April 2026
Our commitment
Florida Car Service complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA) and the Florida Civil Rights Act. Every customer is entitled to equal access to our service regardless of disability. We don’t charge a premium for accessibility accommodations — the rate is the same whether or not a passenger uses a wheelchair or brings a service animal.
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles (WAVs)
Wheelchair-accessible vehicles are available on request. Our WAVs include:
- Rear-entry ramp or side-entry ramp, depending on availability
- Four-point floor tie-down system and three-point shoulder harness for the passenger
- Fits most standard and power wheelchairs up to 30″ wide and 600 lbs combined weight
- Companion seating for one or two travel partners
WAVs require at least 24 hours of advance notice. WAV inventory is smaller than our sedan/SUV fleet; advance booking ensures availability. For same-day requests we attempt to accommodate on a best-effort basis.
Other mobility aids
Folding wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, canes, and transport chairs are welcome in all our vehicles at no extra cost. Your chauffeur will load and unload them for you. Let us know on your booking so we reserve a vehicle with appropriate cargo space (SUVs typically have more room than sedans for larger mobility aids).
Powered mobility scooters that can be disassembled or folded into the vehicle are accommodated. Non-folding powered scooters require a WAV.
Service animals
Service animals are always welcome in every vehicle. No advance notice is needed, and there is no surcharge. Under the ADA, we do not ask about the nature of a disability or require documentation — if the animal is a service animal, it rides.
Emotional-support animals that are not trained as service animals are accommodated when notified in advance. If the vehicle assigned to your ride has an allergy-hypersensitive passenger booked immediately after, dispatch may reassign vehicles to avoid a conflict.
Sensory and cognitive accommodations
If quiet mode (no music, no small talk), consistent route choice, or a specific chauffeur assignment helps you travel comfortably, note it when you book. Our chauffeurs are briefed before each ride.
For passengers with cognitive or communication disabilities, a support person or caregiver is welcome to travel at no additional cost. We’ll communicate directly with the support person if you prefer.
Assistance at pickup
Your chauffeur is trained to assist with luggage, wheelchair loading, and entry/exit from the vehicle. At airports, the meet-and-greet option brings the chauffeur inside the terminal to meet you at baggage claim — particularly useful for travelers who prefer not to navigate the curb alone.
We cannot provide personal-care services (lifting a passenger from one seat to another, administering medication, etc.). A travel companion or professional caregiver can join the ride at no extra cost for that assistance.
How to request accommodations
- Submit your booking through the quote form and use the “special requests” field to describe what you need: WAV, folding wheelchair storage, service animal, quiet ride, etc.
- For WAVs and unusual aids, book at least 24 hours in advance when possible.
- Dispatch confirms feasibility and vehicle availability with your quote email. If we cannot accommodate a specific request, we’ll tell you upfront and suggest alternatives.
Website accessibility
carserviceflorida.co is built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA guidelines. We use semantic HTML, keyboard-navigable components, visible focus indicators, text alternatives for meaningful images, and color contrast that meets or exceeds WCAG thresholds. We test with NVDA, VoiceOver, and Tab-only navigation before releases.
If you run into a barrier on this site — a form you can’t complete with a screen reader, a button you can’t reach by keyboard, a page that doesn’t reflow at 200% zoom — let us know. We fix accessibility bugs with the same priority as broken functionality.
