Under Florida Statute 316.613, children age 5 and younger must be secured in a federally approved crash-tested child restraint device while traveling by motor vehicle:

Age 3 and under— a separate carrier, integrated child seat, or a child restraint (car seat)
Ages 4 and 5— a separate child restraint or booster seat

Florida’s statute applies to all motor vehicles including rideshare and for-hire chauffeur service. Our chauffeurs follow the law on every ride; a child under 6 will not travel without an appropriate restraint.

Beyond the statute, the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends rear-facing seats until at least age 2 and forward-facing harness seats as long as the child fits the harness weight/height limits — we’ll follow your preference within those bounds.

Newborn to ~24 months, up to 30–35 lbs. Recommended for every infant regardless of age.

Toddler

Forward-facing

Ages 2 to 4, roughly 30–65 lbs. Five-point harness.

Booster

High-back booster

Ages 4 to 8 approximately, 40–100 lbs, until the vehicle’s seat belt fits correctly on its own.

How to request a seat

Select the seat type and facing direction on your booking request. We ask for up to two seats per reservation.
Submit the request at least 48 hours in advance. Short-notice requests are filled on a best-effort basis — seats are not always available in every vehicle class on every lane.
For round trips, let us know if you need seats on the return leg as well. Seats are removed from the vehicle between legs unless the trip is same-day.

Cost

Each child seat is a flat $25 per seat per leg. The fee covers delivery to the vehicle, professional installation by your chauffeur, and cleaning/storage between rides. A round trip with one seat on each leg is $50.

The fee is not charged if we cannot provide the seat and the ride is completed without one — but that scenario means the ride cannot legally be completed with a child under 6 on board. Reserve seats early.

Can I bring my own seat?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring your own car seat — many families prefer the familiarity of their own model. Your chauffeur will help load it into the vehicle but is not permitted to install it on your behalf (liability reasons); you’ll want to install it yourself.

If you bring your own seat, you don’t pay the $25 fee — note on your booking that you’re bringing your own.

Airport pickups

If you’re flying in without a car seat (common for families traveling light), request ours in advance — we’ll have it installed and ready when you land. This is especially useful at MIA, FLL, MCO, and TPA where rideshare drivers rarely carry seats.

Safety and maintenance

We inspect every seat before each use. Seats involved in any collision are retired regardless of visible damage. Every seat is replaced before the manufacturer’s expiration date (typically 6–10 years from manufacture).
