South Beach Black Car — Causeway-Smart Dispatch from South Pointe to Bal Harbour

Miami Beach is an island operation, and everything about dispatch here starts with causeway choice. The MacArthur Causeway (I-395/SR-A1A) is the fastest route to and from MIA for South Beach south of 15th Street, but it feeds directly into the Port Boulevard interchange — on cruise-return Saturdays between 8 and 11 a.m. the eastbound MacArthur can sit for 30+ minutes. The Venetian Causeway is a two-lane tolled alternative that lands at 17th Street near Sunset Harbour; it is our default for Mid-Beach pickups heading to Wynwood, the Design District, or the Brightline station, because it avoids the Port altogether. The Julia Tuttle (I-195) is the only viable route for North Beach, Bal Harbour, and Surfside runs to MIA — we use it exclusively for anything north of 41st Street. Ocean Drive is closed to through traffic on weekends and during events (Art Deco Weekend in January, Memorial Day weekend, Art Basel satellite shows in December), and during those closures we load on Collins Avenue or on the numbered cross-streets (5th, 8th, 11th, 14th) rather than trying to enter Ocean Drive at all. Fisher Island is reached only by the MacArthur Causeway ferry at Terminal Island — we coordinate the resident ferry manifest in advance and the chauffeur rides the ferry with the vehicle; first-time guests often do not realize this is a 7-10 minute ferry crossing with a scheduled departure every 15 minutes. Valet regulations on Collins Avenue are strict: hotels from the Fontainebleau (4441 Collins) to the Faena (3201 Collins) to the W South Beach (2201 Collins) all require chauffeur handoff to on-property valet — curbside loading on Collins is not permitted in the hotel frontage zones. The Miami Beach Convention Center is the single biggest demand driver during eMerge, Art Basel, Swim Week, and the Boat Show; we stage at the Convention Center Garage on 17th Street and use 18th Street westbound to reach the Julia Tuttle without getting caught in the West Avenue gridlock. Spring Break and Memorial Day weekend trigger rolling Miami Beach PD closures along Ocean Drive and Collins south of 15th Street; our chauffeurs monitor MBPD twitter alerts and pre-position north of 16th Street during those windows. Hurricane season brings king-tide flooding on Indian Creek Drive, Alton Road between 5th and 10th, and Purdy Avenue — all avoidable with 24-hour advance planning.
