Local tips for getting around Orlando
Operational notes from our Orlando dispatch team — the kind of routing detail that saves 15 to 30 minutes on a bad day.
MCO Terminal C is a separate building from Terminals A/B — confirm the terminal before pickup. The APM train between terminals takes 15 minutes.
Brightline Orlando terminates at MCO Terminal C with a dedicated ground transportation curb.
OCCC convention weeks (IAAPA, PGA Show, Surf Expo, MegaCon) saturate Sand Lake and Universal Blvd — route via SR-528.
Disney resort pickups go to the resort porte-cochère, not the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC is only for Magic Kingdom day guests).
Universal on-property hotels load at resort porte-cochère, not at CityWalk — CityWalk loading is regulated and slow.
I-4 Ultimate construction has permanently changed exits at Fairbanks, Princeton, and Kaley — chauffeurs use the current configuration.
About Orlando car service
Orlando is a theme-park and convention town, and the single biggest operational variable is the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) calendar. OCCC on International Drive hosts 200+ events a year; during the big ones — IAAPA Expo in November, Surf Expo, MegaCon, PGA Show in January — the entire I-Drive corridor from Universal Boulevard to the Convention Way saturates between 7:30-9 a.m. and 4:30-6 p.m. MCO runs from I-Drive hotels during OCCC peak go via Universal Boulevard South to SR-528 East (the BeachLine Expressway), never through Sand Lake Road to the Turnpike. MCO itself has a specific terminal layout that matters: Terminal A and Terminal B share the north airside (Airsides 1-4), and the newer Terminal C on the south side is where the Brightline Orlando station sits alongside JetBlue, Aer Lingus, GOL, and Emirates. Dropping at Terminal A when your flight is out of Terminal C means a 15-minute APM train ride — we always confirm the terminal before the pickup. The Brightline Orlando terminus at Terminal C is a primary pickup/drop and has a dedicated ground transportation curb. Walt Disney World transfers have their own rules: the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom resort hotels each have a designated porte-cochère, and the Transportation and Ticket Center (TTC) is the drop point only for Magic Kingdom day guests — not for Grand Floridian, Polynesian, or Contemporary resort guests who have direct property access. Disney Springs pickups work on Buena Vista Drive at the Lime Garage. Universal Orlando pickups happen at the on-property hotel porte-cochères (Portofino Bay, Hard Rock, Royal Pacific, Sapphire Falls, Aventura, Cabana Bay, Endless Summer) rather than at CityWalk, because CityWalk loading is regulated and slow. Lake Nona is a growing destination with the USTA National Campus, Lake Nona Medical City (Nemours Children's, VA Medical Center, UCF College of Medicine), and Boxi Park — MCO is 10-15 minutes via Narcoossee Road and SR-417. Winter Park, 15 minutes north of downtown via I-4 East, has Park Avenue shopping and the Alfond Inn; I-4 Ultimate construction has permanently changed the Fairbanks Avenue exit configuration. Downtown Orlando events (Magic games at the Kia Center, Orlando City SC at Inter&Co Stadium, City Foundry events) close Church Street and Central Boulevard — post-event pickups stage on South Street east of Hughey. Hurricane season brings afternoon convective storms that flood the I-4 Kaley/Princeton stretch and the I-Drive underpasses; our chauffeurs carry SR-408 and SR-417 alternates.
